Job summary

ABB seeks a Production Manager to lead a product group in a manufacturing setting. You will oversee safety, quality, and productivity, guiding supervisors and 200+ hourly workers while championing lean improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will coordinate audits and implement corrective actions with cross‑functional teams. Advanced knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma, ERP systems (AMSAP or SAP Torque), and data analysis is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply chain, Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years of manufacturing or project management experience with 3 years in leadership.
  • Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies and ERP systems (AMSAP or SAP Torque).
  • Strong data analysis and Excel skills; ability to lead audits and improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead safety, quality, and productivity initiatives for an assigned product group.
  • Provide guidance to Production Supervisors and 200+ hourly associates.
  • Drive continuous improvement and lean manufacturing practices on the factory floor.
  • Coordinate with cross‑functional teams for customer audits and improvement plans.
  • Develop and monitor manufacturing strategy to meet delivery and efficiency goals.

Create, operate and sustain a clean, safe working environment that meets world class standards to eliminate safety risk and potential hazards on factory floor.Quality: Ensure quality process execution of production lines including leading Customer Audits, Internal Audits, leading root cause analysis with cross-functional engineering teams, and establishing a governance of identified gaps to oversee implementation of improvement plan.Strategy Leadership: Create, implement, and review production and manufacturing strategy. Work with other functions to make optimization plan for the product group assigned to increase operational excellence and customer delivery requirements.Operational Performance Targets: Ensure achievement of established business targets, through definition and governance of improvement actions as needed. Focuses on achievement of Safety, Quality, Revenue, Productivity, Efficiency, and Cost Reduction.Standards and Governance: Implement and ensure compliance with global and local standards, rules, tools, policies, and processes related to operations/project execution and shares functional best practices and lessons learned across the organization.People Leadership and Development: Ensure that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed and directed for a flexible, skilled workforce. Manage (with HR Support) development and accountability of production organization.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business, Supply chain, Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum 4 years of manufacturing or project management experience including 3 years of leadership experience.Knowledge of Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.ERP experience in Americas SAP (AMSAP) or SAP Torque.
