Job summary

Lao Family Community Development, Inc. is seeking a Workforce Program Specialist to support WIOA participants and CalAIM initiatives, coordinating with AJCC and business centers.

You will conduct assessments, provide counseling, coordinate trainings, and connect participants with employers, with on-site rotations at Berkeley Adult School and LFCD AJCC locations. Strong communication, bilingual Spanish-English and program knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; or at least 1 year of relevant experience with vulnerable populations.
• Bilingual Spanish and English is highly desirable.
• Strong verbal and written communication, networking and public speaking skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive participant assessments to develop individualized care management and employment plans.
• Perform community outreach and engagement activities, including resource fairs and referrals.
• Facilitate workshops, orientations, counseling sessions, and job readiness activities.
• Assist participants with resumes, letters, IEPs, and job referrals; provide retention services.
• Provide intensive case management and up to 12 months of employment retention support.
• Coordinate with training providers for ITA documentation and enrollment.
• Maintain participant records in CalJOBS, CMS, and related databases.
• Develop partnerships with employers, healthcare providers, and community organizations.
• Identify employment opportunities and coordinate on-the-job training.
• Support access to public benefits and supportive services.
