Job summary

SCO in New York is seeking a Program Director to oversee intake services for shelter and related programs. You will supervise the Intake Coordinator, ensure 40 hours training compliance, and coordinate with sites and community partners.

This role requires a Bachelor degree in a related field (MSW preferred); you will lead reporting, on-call coverage, outreach, and program quality improvement initiatives, while maintaining 90% utilization.

Responsibilities

• Complete pre-screenings and intake assessments for clients in need of shelter or other services.
• Review assessments, Psychiatric evaluations, and documents from referral sources.
• Participate in service and discharge planning and conferencing, when appropriate.
• Complete fieldwork and outreach to build a network of referral sources.
• Report any suspected abuse or neglect to State Central Register.
• Liaise between program sites, community-based organizations, and agencies serving runaway and homeless youth.
• Complete monthly and annual statistical reports.
• Maintain DYCD Connect enrollments for new admissions.
• Collaborate with Case Planners and admin team to ensure quality of service.
• Participate in Program Quality Improvement activities.
• Hire and supervise the Intake Coordinator; ensure 40 hours per annum training and evaluations are completed.
• Provide 24-hour on-call intake coverage via agency cell phone and manage emergency placements.
• Perform any other assigned tasks.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Complete pre-screenings and intake assessments for clients in need of shelter or other services.
• Review assessments, Psychiatric evaluations, and other documents received from referral sources.

• Complete fieldwork and outreach to build network of potential referral sources.
• Report any suspected abuse or neglect to State Central Register.
• Act as liaison between program sites, community based organizations, and agencies that serve runaway and homeless youth.
• Complete monthly and annual statistical reports.
• Maintain DYCD Connect enrollments for all new admissions.
• Work collaboratively with Case Planners and administrative team to ensure quality of service.
• Participate in other program activities including Program Quality Improvement.
• Hires and supervises the Intake Coordinator, including ensuring the intake worker completes 40 hours per annum training requirements, and performance evaluations are completed.
• Provides 24-hour on-call intake coverage via agency cell phone and manages all emergency placements.
• Any other assigned tasks.
