Job summary

Quipt Home Medical is seeking an Intake Specialist to be the first point of contact for referrals, patients, and commercial accounts. You will handle inquiries, verify insurance, and process physician orders accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires strong written and verbal communication skills, empathy in handling complaints, and the ability to manage daily tasks across multiple systems and departments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous clerical or customer service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and basic office software.
• Neat appearance and strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication and decision-making abilities.
• Medicare/Medicaid and insurance billing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients, referrals, and caregivers to provide equipment and/or services.
• Verify insurance eligibility and process orders and authorizations as needed.
• Input orders and paperwork into the computer system; coordinate documentation.
• Arrange delivery or pickup times with patients and caregivers; liaise with clinical staff.
• Handle complaints professionally and track resolutions and follow-ups.
• Maintain accurate patient files and ensure timely filing and documentation.
