Job summary

IHCS is seeking an Intake Specialist to process referrals from hospitals, SNFs, PCPs, and specialists. The role verifies insurance eligibility for home health services, nursing, medications, and equipment, ensuring smooth intake and accurate records.

The ideal candidate has 1 year of customer service experience, strong communication skills, and can navigate EMR/EHR systems. Bilingual Spanish is a plus, with a supportive team and an inclusive workplace.

Qualifications

• 1 year of customer service experience.
• Ability to use various computer programs and applications, including EMR/EHR.
• Bilingual Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process incoming referrals from hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, PCPs, and specialists.
• Verify insurance eligibility for services including nursing, medication, and equipment for home care patients.
• Coordinate with care team to ensure timely intake and referral processing.
• Maintain accurate records and data entry in EMR/EHR.

What will you be doing:

The Intake Specialist is responsible for processing incoming referrals from hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, primary care providers (PCPs), and specialists. This position ensures the verification of insurance eligibility for services including nursing, medication, and equipment needed for patients in the home setting.

• Effective verbal and written communication skill
• 1 Year of Customer Service Experience
• Ability to use various computer programs and applications, IE EMR/EHR
• Ability to self-motivate and work independently
• Ability to multi-task, set priorities and manage time effectively
• Bilingual Spanish a plus
