JVS SoCal is seeking an SSVF Intake Specialist to join the Veterans Service Team in the Greater Los Angeles area. You will assess Veterans and their Families for program eligibility and refer ineligible clients to appropriate resources.
This 100% in-person role requires a BA/BS (or equivalent experience), strong communication, and the ability to multi-task while supporting priority populations. Some evenings/weekends and travel to partner sites may be required.
As part of the JVS So Cal Veterans Service Team, the SSVF Intake Specialist will be part of a dedicated, specialized, and passionate team focused on improving the lives of veterans experiencing homelessness. Utilizing a client-driven approach, the SSVF Intake Specialist leverages their experience, drive, and training to assess Veterans and their Families for program eligibility and refer ineligible clients to appropriate resources.
Requirements
Will work in an office environment and travel to community partners and housing sites. Must lift 15 lbs. with a fair amount of sitting, answering telephone calls, and movement within the office. May be required to work some evenings and an occasional weekend day. Must be able to operate standard office equipment. A valid Driver’s License is required.

The Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program is designed to provide supportive services to low-income veteran families at risk or experiencing homelessness. Its primary purpose is to help these families secure stable housing and prevent them from becoming permanently homeless. The program offers various services such as case management, temporary financial assistance, housing counseling, and referrals to community resources for employment/ training services or assistance with benefits.
$25.00 - $26.00 per hour + benefits
JVS SoCal will consider qualified applicants with a criminal history pursuant to the California Fair Chance Act.
