Job summary

Via Linda Behavioral Hospital in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking an Intake RN for PRN/Per Diem with day and night shifts available to support a caring behavioral health team.

Under the Director of Intake, you’ll triage inquiries, coordinate admissions, liaise with referral sources, families, payors and physicians, and complete nursing admission paperwork and eligibility verification.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice nursing in Arizona or compact privileges.
• Preferred one year of experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting.
• Must have or be able to attain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Responsibilities

• Process inquiry and referral calls promptly and coordinate admissions.
• Serve as liaison to referral sources, families, payors, physicians and hospital staff.
• Triage patients, complete assessments, and determine appropriate level of care.
• Enter calls and admissions in the computer system and complete nursing admission paperwork.
• Assist patient to unit and communicate with unit staff.

Summary:

Under the direction of the Director of Intake, the Intake RN is responsible for the timely processing of inquiry/referral calls, coordination of all admissions processes and serves as liaison to referral sources, families, payors, physicians, unit and hospital personnel involved with each admission. The Intake RN duties are (but not limited to) triaging patients, completion of assessments for assisting physician in identification of an appropriate level of care for potential patients, ability to staff clinical effectively, enter calls and admissions in computer and complete nursing admission paperwork with patient. This position interfaces closely with both internal hospital staff, facility physicians, as well as referring hospitals, patients, families, and community referral sources. Effectively communicate with unit staff and assist patient to unit. The Intake RN also at times be responsible for the verification and prior authorization of insurance benefits as needed.
