The Intake Worker/Coordinator is accountable for coordinating the assessment and referral activities at the facility. This position involves extensive contact with the community and works closely with utilization review staff, business office staff, and clinical staff to ensure continuity of communication. The role is also responsible for inquiry calls, tracking the initial authorization completion, and scheduling evaluations and admissions. Shifts available: Day or Night.
Palo Verde Behavioral Health Hospital provides comprehensive behavioral healthcare for children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults suffering from mental health and addictive illnesses. We offer partial and intensive outpatient hospitalization, as well as specialized treatment programs for co-occurring symptoms. The hospital is located in Tucson, AZ at the base of the Catalina Foothills.
Job Requirements
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred with a focus on psychology or nursing.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an outpatient environment, preferably in mental health.
Additional requirements of the position: Must be tested for tuberculosis with a PPD skin test or chest x‑ray upon hire; PPD skin test required annually or chest x‑ray every 4 years thereafter. Must obtain and maintain a Class 1 Arizona Fingerprint Clearance.
