Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required.
• BSN is preferred.
• One or more years of mental health or substance use admissions experience is preferred.
• Experience in clinical interviewing, patient assessment, referrals, treatment planning, and utilization processes.
• CPR, de-escalation and restraint certification are required; First aid may be required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates admissions and assessment processes for incoming patients.
• Provides initial evaluation and starts integrated assessment, documenting symptoms, functioning and needs.
• Collaborates with facility medical and psychiatric staff to ensure appropriate admissions.
• Coordinates admission details and communicates projected admissions to internal representatives.
• Reviews patient charts to determine medical necessity and coordinates orders with physicians.
