Job summary

Advisacare Home Health and Hospice in Lansing, MI is seeking a full-time Intake Specialist to obtain benefit information, initial authorization, and patient liability before care begins. The role schedules clinical staff and tracks orders and documentation from physicians/referral sources using Kinnser Agency Manager.

The ideal candidate has Medicare knowledge, insurance verification experience, and strong communication with attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of one year insurance verification or medical billing experience.
• Knowledge of Medicare and insurance websites is preferred.
• Conscientious with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Obtain benefit information for insurance companies and initial authorization.
• Validate and document payor information in the Kinnser system.
• Document benefits including deductibles and out-of-pocket max.
• Schedule clinical staff after verification/authorization.
• Assist billing with various duties.
