Job summary

ARDC: Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission of the Supreme Court of Illinois is seeking a skilled Intake Group Manager to lead an intake division of lawyers, paralegals, investigators, and staff. You will ensure timely review, analysis, and processing of complaints and provide legal guidance to team members to uphold fairness and excellence in ARDC proceedings.

The role requires a JD from an ABA-accredited school, strong supervisory experience, and the ability to manage high volumes

Qualifications

• J.D. degree from ABA-accredited law school and active Illinois bar.
• Active Illinois bar license (or eligibility to obtain admission promptly).
• Minimum of 10 years of practice, with five in professional regulation.
• Previous supervisory or team management experience.
• Strong legal research, analytical, writing, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with diverse groups.
• Highly organized with strong time management and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze incoming complaints involving lawyer conduct and fitness to determine if investigation is warranted.
• Conduct investigations into complaints and misconduct.
• Facilitate resolution of disputes between complainants and respondents.
• Review investigative materials and prepare summaries, referrals, or closure memos.
• Supervise and mentor Intake staff, assign and prioritize cases, ensure timely processing.
• Develop and refine intake policies, procedures, and workflows for efficiency.
• Collaborate with Litigation Group Managers to relay intake findings for further action.
• Monitor data entry accuracy and prepare periodic reports and analyses.
• Support modernization of digital platforms and case management tools.
