Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Wayne County Human Services, Children & Youth Agency in Honesdale, PA, is seeking a County Caseworker 2 for the Intake Screening Unit. The role involves interviewing clients, assessing safety needs, developing service plans, and coordinating supports for at-risk children and families.

Responsibilities include home visits, travel within the county, documentation, and occasional overnight travel. On-call 24/7 on a rotating basis.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience as County Caseworker 1, or
• Successful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program, or
• Bachelor's degree with a social welfare major, or
• Bachelor's degree with 12 related credits and one year of casework experience, or
• Any equivalent combination including 12 credits in sociology/social welfare/psychology

Responsibilities

• Interview clients, families, and collateral contacts to identify barriers to child safety.
• Evaluate eligibility for services and determine supports required.
• Create family service plans, referrals, and manage an active caseload.
• Maintain organized, accurate case files and documentation.
• Provide supervised counseling and assist with protective services for children.
• Prepare assessments, home studies, reports, and court testimony as needed
