Job summary

Gulfport Behavioral Health System in Mississippi seeks a PRN Assessment Coordinator to join the Intake Department. The role involves risk assessment, crisis intervention and coordinating referrals and admissions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services.

The ideal candidate is a licensed RN or holds a Master’s in a related field with two+ years of intake experience in acute psychiatry, and CPR/CPI certifications.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or Master’s degree in a human relations field.
• Two+ years in intake assessment within acute psychiatric settings preferred.
• Licensed in Mississippi as RN; LMSW/LCSW/LPC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide telephone and in person risk assessment and crisis intervention.
• Coordinate referral and intake processes and determine level of care.
• Facilitate admissions and communicate with referrals, families, patients and staff.
• Assist physicians with face-to-face clinical assessments and psychosocial info.
