Job summary

Universal Health Services is seeking a PRN Assessment Coordinator for Gulfport Behavioral Health System to perform risk assessments, crisis intervention, and intake coordination in a 92-bed psychiatric hospital on the MS Gulf Coast.

The role supports physicians with clinical assessments, admissions, and referrals, requiring RN licensure or a related master's degree, and knowledge of DSM-5, crisis prevention, and addiction recovery.

Qualifications

• Education: Registered Nurse or Master’s Degree in a human relations field.
• Two or more years’ experience in intake assessment activities within an acute psychiatric setting.
• Licensure: Licensed to practice in the State of Mississippi as an RN; or LMSW, LCSW or LPC licensure preferred.
• CPR and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certifications; certifications may be obtained during new hire orientation.
• Knowledge: crisis intervention and risk assessment, DSM-5 knowledge, Mental Status Exam, addiction/recovery field.

Responsibilities

• Provide telephone and in-person risk assessment and crisis intervention.
• Coordinate the referral and intake process, determine appropriate level of care, facilitate the admission process, and maintain communication with referral sources, families, patients and unit staff.
• Assist the Physician by providing face-to-face clinical assessments, including history of presenting illness and psychosocial information.

Education

RN or Master’s in human relations field

Mississippi RN licensure or LMSW/LCSW/LPC licensure preferred
