Job summary

Hina Mauka is seeking an Intake Counselor in Kaneohe, HI to screen and assess potential clients for substance abuse and mental health services. You will work under supervision to determine treatment needs and coordinate care with medical and psychiatric staff.

The role requires maintaining strict client confidentiality, coordinating with insurance and referral sources, and ensuring accurate documentation in electronic health record systems. This is a full-time, on-site position in Kaneohe.

Qualifications

• CSAC certification or advanced degree in social work, psychology or behavioral science preferred.
• CPR and First Aid eligibility may be required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate potential clients using bio-psycho-social assessment to determine treatment needs and level of care.
• Coordinate with Medical Director and psychiatric staff as needed for care recommendations.
• Assist with insurance/case management approvals and payment authorizations.
• Coordinate intake processes with Admission Supervisor and Adult Services Manager.
• Maintain client records compliant with policies, laws and accreditation standards.
