Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center in Louisiana seeks an experienced nurse to coordinate new patient intake, schedule consults, and support radiation oncology services. The role ensures documentation is received before the first appointment and assists designated physicians.
Responsibilities include patient education, coordination of PET/CT referrals, and specialized nursing care in brachytherapy. Active LA RN or LPN license and BLS CPR are required; oncology experience preferred.

SCOPE: Functions as a point person for coordination of new patient consult requests to provide a smooth transition of patient care for entry into the MBPCC system. Schedules all new and PET/CT patients for their first appointment and works with patient access and navigation when appropriate. Ensures that all documentation specific to patient’s diagnosis is received prior to first appointment. Assists designated physician(s) in a variety of professional and paraprofessional patient care activities as specified and requested. Responsible for providing specialized care of the radiation oncology patient including patient assessments, education and participation in brachytherapy procedures.
