Job summary

The Lighthouse Mission is seeking an Intake Coordinator to join the Recovery Program Services team. This full-time role focuses on residents entering services, coordinating screening and intake, and providing case management while maintaining accurate records.

The position supports a Christ-centered workplace and collaborates with shelter operations and program staff. Flexibility is required for rotating weekend schedules and occasional evenings, holidays, or after-hours work to support

  • Provide crisis intervention and communicate concerns to Directors.
  • Assist with accountability tasks and community referrals.

Job description

Position: Intake Coordinator Department: Recovery Program Services Schedule: This is a full-time position that generally operates Monday through Friday. However, flexibility is required, as this position participates in a rotating weekend schedule and may occasionally require evening, holiday, or after-hours work to support resident needs, program operations, and special events. Wage: $24.00- $26.00 per hour LNI: 6509-4

Position Description: The Intake Coordinator will work closely with the Shelter Operations Team and Recovery Programs at Lighthouse Mission Ministry (LMM), focusing on residents entering services. The Intake Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the screening and intake process, providing case management services to residents, maintaining accurate records, and helping create an atmosphere of hospitality. As program census grows, this position will maintain an assigned caseload of residents and provide ongoing case management throughout their participation in the Recovery Program. Intake & Screening
  • Assist current residents and new applicants in completing intake paperwork, reviewing information provided, and conducting screening for the Recovery Programs.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and complete applicant and resident records in the database, following up on missing information as needed throughout the screening and intake process.
  • Conduct background screenings on potential residents to ensure program compatibility within established guidelines.
  • Coordinate and assist Program Directors with the intake and orientation process for individuals entering Recovery Programs, including conducting interviews, completing drug screenings, managing security access, and supporting daily operational needs.
  • Cultivate a welcoming, Christ-centered environment while helping residents access the full range of LMM programs and community resources that support recovery and long-term stability.
Case Management

Provide individualized case management services to assigned residents, beginning during the intake process and continuing throughout their participation in the Recovery Program as assigned.

  • Maintain an assigned caseload of residents, with the size and composition of the caseload adjusted based on program census and operational needs.
  • Develop, monitor, and update individualized service plans in collaboration with residents and the Recovery Program team.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one case management meetings, document resident progress, and assist residents in achieving program goals.
  • Complete timely case notes, assessments, and other required documentation in accordance with Recovery Program, funding, and accreditation standards.
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support while responding appropriately to resident needs and emergencies.
  • Monitor resident compliance with program expectations and communicate concerns to Program Directors in a timely manner.
  • Assist with resident accountability, including drug screenings, room checks, curfew monitoring, and other program operations as assigned.
  • Coordinate with community partners and internal departments to connect residents with resources that support long-term recovery and stability.
  • Serve as a liaison between residents and outside agencies to promote successful referrals, transitions into services, and continuity of care.
Program Support & Professional Responsibilities
  • Represent LMM professionally through communication with community partners and attendance at county, city, and collaborative meetings as appropriate.
  • Participate in prayer and Christian devotionals in a group setting.
  • Facilitate educational, life skills, recovery, and program classes as assigned.
  • Distribute medications in accordance with Recovery Program policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Provide or assist with resident transportation to appointments, program activities, community resources, and other approved events as needed.
  • Maintain a positive, pleasant, and professional attitude while modeling transparent and supportive Christian relationships, serving as a leadership example for residents.
  • Oversee, encourage, and train volunteers and interns as needed.
  • Participate in regular team and community meetings as needed.
  • Maintain a current understanding of LMM programs and operations, which may require attendance at other programming events.
  • Embrace and use LMM's grace-based accountability philosophy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Organizational Relationships
  • Works alongside a team of Recovery Program Staff, Shelter Operations staff, volunteers, and interns.
  • Represents LMM to other social service agencies.
  • Works in conjunction with the program administrator regarding resident data collection and quality.
  • Reports directly to the Director of Women’s Recovery Services.
Qualifications

Minimum of one year of experience in social services, working with individuals experiencing homelessness, and/or in the rescue mission environment preferred.

  • A passion for serving Jesus and making the Gospel known through mercy ministry. The successful candidate will have an active church/prayer life and agree with the Lighthouse Mission’s Statement of Faith and Personal Covenant.
  • Knowledge of and preferably experience with issues of homelessness, poverty, addiction, domestic violence, and recovery.
  • Strong in Administrative skills and organization
  • Able to use judgment to make independent decisions.
  • Sensitivity to cultural diversity in all forms is required.
  • Ability to successfully pass pre-employment drug and criminal background screenings.
  • High boundary setting and self-reflection skills.
  • Basic motivational interviewing skills preferred.
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with program residents and volunteers.
  • Ability to remain calm and calm others in an emergency and/or confrontational situations.
  • Ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently with LMM staff and with a diverse client base.
  • Practical interpersonal communication skills--both written and oral--for communication with co-workers, men and women staying as residents, and outside agencies.
  • Ability to use MS Word, Excel, Gmail, and Google Calendar.
Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions
  • Ability to report as regularly scheduled to the work-site and remain awake and alert during the shift
