Hiring Range: $20.75 - $23.35 hourly, based on qualifications and experience.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Community Life Coordinator – Recovery is responsible for supporting the recovery team and tasks associated with the day-to‑day operation, safety, and participant services of the program environment. This role oversees safety and cleanliness, participant check‑in processes, administrative support functions, and coordination of program activities and services. The Coordinator ensures a safe, orderly, and welcoming environment for participants, visitors, staff, and volunteers while supporting the Mission purpose of changing lives in the name of Christ.

This position combines operational oversight of the facility and participant activities with front‑line services responsibilities including intake support, communication, record management, and coordination with internal departments. The Coordinator works closely with supervisors and leadership to ensure program operations run efficiently and participants are supported with dignity and respect.

RESPONSIBILITIES

General

• Responsible for the security and safety of the facility, participants, staff, and visitors during assigned shifts.
• Ensures the facility remains free from drugs, alcohol, weapons, or other hazards that jeopardize the Mission/Crossing or its guests.
• Handles guest interactions professionally while maintaining a safe environment.
• Responds to emergencies and contacts first responders when necessary.
• Conduct alcohol and drug screening procedures, including breath alcohol testing and urine specimen collection in accordance with program policies, and confidentiality requirements. Ensure all screenings [DR1] [JP2] are conducted professionally, respectfully, and in a trauma‑informed manner while accurately documenting results
• Regularly checking and documenting the delivery of medications.
• Maintains a visible presence throughout the facility during shifts.
• Greet participants, visitors, and donors and ensure all individuals are checked in appropriately.
• Help maintain an environment where participants feel safe and are encouraged to pursue recovery and stability.
• Ensures delivery of basic services according to established policies and schedules.
• Coordinates with other departments such as Kitchen, Maintenance, IT, MOC, Hospitality, and Operations to support daily operational needs.
• Ensure the facility is cleaned and maintained according to established standards.
• Maintains and tracks inventory of supplies used in daily operations.
• Ensure scheduled activities and services occur on time.
• Maintains operational knowledge of facility systems including fire alarms, utilities shut offs and building systems.
• Inputs maintenance and IT requests when needed.
• Maintains confidentiality when handling guest or organizational information.
• Works with supervisors to ensure proper staffing coverage and scheduling needs.
• Performs additional duties assigned by supervisors or leadership.

Recovery

• Directs new participants through the intake process and facilitates smooth transitions into recovery services.
• Maintains accurate records in systems such as SCRIBE.

WORK CONDITIONS

• Occasionally lifting up to 35 pounds, bending, and climbing stairs.
• Frequent interaction with individuals experiencing homelessness, addiction, mental illness, and other complex challenges.
• Possible exposure to communicable diseases.
• Work is performed in a high‑traffic environment with frequent interruptions.

REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• One year of relevant experience in social services, shelter operations, recovery, customer service, or a related field preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification required within 90 days of hire (training provided).
• Mandatory Reporter Training required within 30 days of hire (training provided)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database systems.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful or high‑pressure situations.
• Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Lived experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to serve as a positive role model and advocate for recovery.
• Understanding of recovery‑oriented systems of care, peer support principles, and trauma informed care practices.
• Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, substance use disorders, and co‑occurring mental health challenges preferred.
• Must be able to clear pre‑employment background and drug screening.
• Must be a Christian holding to the beliefs set forth in the Statement of Faith, expressed by a personal testimony and Christian conduct.
