Job summary

Highlands Behavioral Health System is actively seeking an Intake Clinician to respond to inquiries, perform psychiatric assessments, crisis intervention, and referrals. The role supports admissions in coordination with Nursing, Utilization Review, and the Business Office, ensuring high-quality patient care.

The position requires a Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling, with preference for experience with psychiatric patients across ages.

Qualifications

• Masters Degree in Psychology, Social Work or Counseling.
• Prefer previous experience with psychiatric patients of all ages.
• Strong communication and assessment skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to inquiries by telephone or in person and provide psychiatric assessment and crisis intervention.
• Maintain daily log of all incoming and pending intake calls and assessments.
• Coordinate referrals and admissions with hospital departments.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure optimal patient care and safe admissions.
• Promote a positive working environment and guest relations.
• Complete procedures per CCR 27-65 regulations as required.
• Respond to requests for psychiatric assistance by phone or walk-in.
