Job summary

BHcare is seeking an Intake Clinician to help individuals access behavioral health services, navigate crises, and begin recovery. The role blends intake assessment, crisis intervention, care coordination, and direct clinical services within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications include a Master’s degree in a behavioral health field and Connecticut licensure; licensure candidates also considered. Strong documentation, EHR skills, and commitment to recovery-oriented care are essential.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related behavioral health field required; PhD or PsyD candidates encouraged.
  • Connecticut licensure required; LCSW or LPC strongly preferred. LMSWs or LPCAs pursuing licensure will be considered.
  • Experience conducting assessments, crisis intervention, care coordination, and behavioral health treatment planning.
  • Knowledge of mental health, substance use treatment, recovery-oriented care, and community resources.
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, documentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and electronic health record (EHR) systems; Emergency Certificate training preferred; ability to obtain and maintain certification.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive behavioral health assessments, determine appropriate levels of care, and connect individuals with needed treatment and support services.
  • Provide crisis intervention services, including assessment, triage, safety planning, and coordination with hospitals, emergency departments, and community providers.
  • Deliver direct clinical services and care coordination, helping clients develop and achieve individualized recovery goals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, treatment plans, insurance authorizations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams and community partners to ensure continuity of care and support positive client outcomes.

Join our team as an Intake Clinician, where you'll play a critical role in helping individuals access behavioral health services, navigate crises, and begin their recovery journey.

This position offers a dynamic blend of intake assessment, crisis intervention, care coordination, and direct clinical services. What You’ll Do:
