Job summary

Wooded Glen Recovery Center in Henryville, IN is seeking an Intake Coordinator for the 2nd shift. The role focuses on smoothing front-desk operations, triaging calls, and coordinating admissions with insurers and clinical teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field preferred.
• One or more years' experience in healthcare admissions preferred.
• Preferably in the mental health or substance use disorder field.
• Experience in client assessment, referral, treatment planning and communication with external review organizations or comparable entities.

Responsibilities

• Conducts pre-admission assessments.
• Interviews client and families to meet intake criteria.
• Reviews prospective admissions against criteria, policies, and procedures.
• Initiates discussions with referral sources for client support and business development.
• Responds to needs of referred clients.
• Assesses family needs for mediation and coordinates with professionals.
• Decides which Interventionist and facility to recommend, dates, and travel.
• Works with internal departments and external parties to ensure timely admission.
• Documents daily activities in the CRM and maintains admissions records.
• Verifies benefits with private insurance and screens referrals for transportation.
• Maintains waiting list and stays in contact with candidates for admissions.
