Job summary

Kizen is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Writer with a background in InsurTech, financial services, or insurance operations to craft developer and user-facing documentation for our insurance product suite, including Commissions Copilot, Contracting, and AgentCRM.

This hands-on role collaborates with Product Owners, Engineers, and Solution Architects to translate complex concepts into precise, structured docs that improve customer experience across regulated industries.

Qualifications

5+ years of technical writing experience focused on software or technical platforms.
Bachelor's degree in Communication, English, Journalism, or Computer Science.
Proven experience documenting InsurTech or insurance-adjacent SaaS products in a regulated industry.
Experience writing API and developer documentation for SaaS, platform, or enterprise software.
Strong understanding of the OpenAPI Specification; ability to read/validate .yaml/.json; Docs-as-Code workflows; GitHub/GitBook; Markdown.

Responsibilities

Translate complex technical concepts into clear, usable documentation for developers and users.
Document vertical-specific features, data models, and integration patterns in insurance space.
Create API documentation, integration guides, plugin docs, tutorials, and release notes.
Validate OpenAPI specs (.yaml/.json) and collaborate with engineers on new features.
Maintain documentation quality, architecture, and navigation for strong DX.
