Job summary

Jax Spine and Pain Center is seeking an Insurance Verification Coordinator to join our Revenue Cycle team. You will verify insurance eligibility, benefits, referrals, and prior authorization to ensure smooth scheduling and minimize delays.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and proficient with EMR and Microsoft Office. Experience with commercial and government plans and strong communication are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• 1 year of insurance verification or revenue cycle experience preferred.
• Experience with commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and workers' compensation plans preferred.
• Familiarity with prior authorization, referrals, and EMR systems.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and time management.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, coverage, and plan limitations prior to scheduled appointments and procedures.
• Determine patient financial responsibility, including deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, and out-of-pocket costs.
• Obtain and document required referrals and prior authorization requirements.
• Accurately update insurance information within the EMR.
• Communicate insurance coverage and financial responsibility to patients professionally.
• Collaborate with scheduling, front desk, clinical staff, and revenue cycle teams to resolve issues.
