Job Title: Insurance Verification Specialist

Location: Atlanta, GA

Pay: $21 - $25 per hour, depending on experience

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Position Type: Contract

Work Arrangement: Fully onsite

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Verification Specialist to support a busy healthcare environment. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while providing accurate insurance verification across various medical specialties.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify patients' insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage.
• Use insurance payer portals to confirm coverage and eligibility.
• Contact insurance companies directly by phone to resolve complex verification questions.
• Document insurance verification information accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Identify coverage limitations and communicate relevant information to the appropriate teams.
• Support prior authorization needs as required.
• Float between departments and assist with insurance verification needs across multiple specialties.
• Maintain accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• At least one year of recent healthcare insurance verification experience.
• Hands‑on experience using insurance payer portals and contacting insurance companies.
• Strong understanding of insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage.
• Experience with Epic or another electronic medical record system preferred.
• High-volume healthcare experience preferred.
• Experience in oncology, behavioral health, or multiple medical specialties is a plus.
• Strong communication, organization, multitasking, and problem‑solving skills.
• Professional, punctual, adaptable, and comfortable working in a team‑oriented environment.
