Job summary

CRC Group in Melbourne, FL is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to provide administration and operational support to the Underwriting team. The role includes preparing, reviewing, organizing, and maintaining policy documentation for all risks, invoicing policies, and coordinating new and renewal accounts through binding and policy periods.

The position requires a college degree or equivalent experience, insurance licensing, and familiarity with underwriting processes.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent experience in business or related field.
• 1 year wholesale insurance experience.
• State insurance license required.
• Underwriting Clerk experience or 3+ years general insurance experience.
• Ability to understand and analyze insurance policy components.
• Knowledge of commercial multi-line underwriting and rating.
• Ability to use company automation including Windows, Delphi, Word, DocuCorp, Rackley ISO Rating Software.
• Ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Knowledge of current insurance industry trends.
• Good written and verbal skills.
• Ability to work extended hours when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Set up new and renewal files at binding and verify documentation.
• Perform data entry and policy information updates in underwriting systems.
• Instruct Underwriting Clerks and Policy Typists for invoicing and policy issuance.
• Verify completeness and accuracy of policy data and reports.
• Coordinate with underwriters, agents, carriers, and other partners for information.
