Job summary

Aligned Talent Acquisition represents a premier AmLaw 50 law firm in Chicago seeking an Insurance Transactional & Regulatory Associate Attorney. The role focuses on sophisticated regulatory and transactional matters for insurers, reinsurers, and financial services clients.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of relevant experience, J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school, and Illinois bar admission (or ability to become admitted). Hybrid Chicago office with strong mentorship and client interaction.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of insurance regulatory, insurance transactional, corporate, or financial services experience at a sophisticated law firm.
• Experience representing insurance companies, reinsurers, MGAs, brokers, PE sponsors, or other insurance participants.
• Experience advising on insurance regulatory compliance, licensing, governance, and regulatory approvals.
• Experience handling insurance company mergers & acquisitions, investments, restructurings, reinsurance transactions, or other strategic transactions.
• Interaction with state insurance departments and regulators is preferred.
• Experience drafting and negotiating transaction agreements, regulatory filings, service agreements, and other insurance-related documentation.

Compensation

$235,000 – $375,000+

A premier national law firm is seeking an Insurance Transactional & Regulatory Associate Attorney to join its Chicago office.

This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in representing insurance companies, reinsurers, private equity sponsors, investors, and other sophisticated clients in complex insurance regulatory and transactional matters.

Ideal Background

• 3+ years of insurance regulatory, insurance transactional, corporate, or financial services experience gained at a sophisticated law firm
• Experience representing insurance companies, reinsurers, managing general agents (MGAs), brokers, private equity sponsors, or other insurance industry participants
• Experience advising clients regarding insurance regulatory compliance, licensing, corporate governance, and regulatory approvals
• Experience handling insurance company mergers & acquisitions, investments, restructurings, reinsurance transactions, or other strategic transactions
• Experience interacting with state insurance departments and insurance regulators is preferred
• Experience drafting and negotiating transaction agreements, regulatory filings, service agreements, and other insurance-related documentation
• Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to independently manage sophisticated regulatory and transactional matters while maintaining significant client interaction
• Excellent academic credentials
• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required
• Illinois bar admission required or ability to become admitted
