Job summary

Cook Children’s Health Care System is seeking an Insurance Specialist/Receptionist to manage patient flow, answer calls, and schedule visits at Heritage Primary Care. You will handle demographics data entry, posting charges and payments, and assist with insurance verification and claims processing.

The role requires at least a high school diploma, 2 years in a medical office, knowledge of insurance plans, and Epic experience preferred. This is an on-site, full-time position in Texas.

Qualifications

• Understanding of diversified insurance plans and managed care.
• Knowledge of coding and medical terminology.
• Two years of Epic experience and insurance/referral verification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee patient flow and answer phones promptly and courteously.

May be responsible for data entry of patient demographics, posting of charges, payments and adjustments as required in the clinic setting. Other responsibilities may include obtaining insurance verification, referral authorization, processing and follow-up of insurance claims and collections as required. Expected to have knowledge of all front office procedures and adhere to all CCPN policies and procedures.Education & Experience:High school graduate or equivalent.At least two years of experience in a medical office setting.Understanding of diversified insurance plans and Managed Care environment.
