Job summary

University of Florida is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator I to manage the Policy Management Program and risk-insurance operations for campus departments. The role includes evaluating liability claims, coordinating with FEMA/Florida authorities, and ensuring event COI compliance while supporting continuity planning.

The candidate should hold a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field, with experience in risk management, insurance, and customer service.

Qualifications

Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and three years of appropriate experience.
Experience with risk management, insurance programs, and FEMA/public assistance is preferred.
ARM designation or related certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

Oversee UF Policy Management Program and DRM insurance; prepare premium statements and train departments.
Evaluate and investigate liability and property damage incidents; assist with mediation or litigation.
Coordinate disaster claims with FEMA and the State of Florida; ensure compliance with event insurance requirements.
Manage COI requests and train university partners on event risk and coverage.
Perform field risk management duties including operating UF/state vehicles and occasional travel.
Support business continuity planning and reporting; maintain required licenses.
