Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Insurance is seeking an Actuarial Analyst - P&C Focus to support the Chief Actuary and the Company Services Group. You will help complete actuarial reviews of rate bureau filings and conduct special studies with guidance from the Chief Actuary.

Position requires collaboration, data analysis, and knowledge of NC laws. Hybrid telework with routine office and up to one remote day per week after orientation; salary range $60,000–$72,100; employment offers include

• Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, business, or closely related field.
• Ability to prepare written reports that are clear and well documented.
• Basic project management skills to work as a team on new processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist with actuarial reviews of rate bureau filings.
• Devise and conduct special studies on important P&C issues.
• Assist with data calls and reserve reviews for insurers and risk retention groups.
• Review rate, rule and policy form filings and Statements of Actuarial Opinion.
