Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Experience with PCs and Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Outlook) preferred.
• Strong interpersonal communication required.
• Good organizational skills and ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Answer questions and refer members to contacts.
• Understand customer service principles and county procedures.
• Develop understanding of property and casualty insurance.
• Handle filing, incoming mail, and monitor transactions.
• Assist county members, agents and staff within training/licensure.
• Provide phone coverage and route calls.
• Attend training classes for professional development.
• Familiarize with state and county organizational structures.
• Develop knowledge of company systems used by county CSRs.
• Use Microsoft programs to perform tasks and manage emails.
• Understand membership system and payment procedures.
• Assist with policy change requests submissions.
• Assist with claims reporting via loss notices.
• Assist with NC Beach/Fair Plan policies and procedures.
• Aid in processing loss notices/payments for Flood and NCFB brokerage.
• Abide by county file retention procedures.
• Procedures related to insurance bank and county accounts.
• Order supplies as assigned.
• Begin CSR Level 2 training when appropriate.
• Licensing process for Property and Casualty if candidate.
• Other duties as approved by SSC.
