Job summary

Paycom - ATS is seeking an experienced Paralegal to join our Insurance litigation team in Los Angeles, CA. This role supports attorneys in a fast-paced environment with California state and federal courts, focusing on discovery.

Responsibilities include drafting and cite-checking briefs, coordinating subpoenas, reviewing medical records, managing case timelines, organizing files, trial prep, and client communications. A Paralegal Certificate and strong civil procedure knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• Requires strong knowledge of California state and federal civil procedure rules, especially discovery.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities with team collaboration.
• Ability to manage deadlines, multi-task, and adapt to deadlines and priorities.
• Advanced proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys in preparing discovery documents, pleadings, motions, and briefs, including cite-checking.
• Prepare and coordinate service of deposition and business record subpoenas; track production.
• Review and summarize medical records, depositions, and case documents.
• Coordinate case timelines and manage case files (electronic and physical).
• Assist with trial preparation: exhibits, witness prep, and logistics.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and experts.
• Provide general administrative support: scheduling, calendars, and drafting correspondence.
