Job summary

Northwestern Mutual in Milwaukee is seeking an Insurance Document Associate on a contract basis to support underwriting and claims document handling. This on-site role runs 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM and requires careful mail processing, file review, and adherence to procedures.

The position emphasizes accuracy, discretion, and the ability to coordinate documents across product lines. Prior mail handling or customer service experience is preferred; lifting 15–20 lbs is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; 1–2 years mail handling or customer service experience preferred.
• Strong accuracy and ability to meet SLAs.
• Ability to lift 15-20 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Open, evaluate, acknowledge and distribute mail.
• Examine incoming mail and re-route as necessary.
• Identify receipt and route to appropriate area.
• Support underwriter with required information and forms.
• Prepare mail for scanning and maintain correct order.
• Meet established service level agreements.
• Review and audit documents for underwriting and claims.
• Process checks and deposits where applicable.
• Coordinate and ship documents to Records Center and related tasks.
• Respond to basic inquiries for rescans and original documents.
