You will manage caseloads from inception through resolution, draft pleadings, conduct depositions, appear at hearings, and coordinate with insurance carrier clients to develop litigation strategies.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active admission to the New York State Bar.
• 2+ years of insurance defense or civil litigation experience.
• Familiarity with New York court procedures.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Experience with depositions, motions, and discovery is preferred.
• Highly organized, self-motivated, able to manage multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of insurance defense litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and memoranda.
• Conduct depositions, examinations before trial (EBTs), and witness interviews.
• Appear in court for hearings, conferences, and oral arguments.
• Investigate claims, analyze coverage issues, and develop litigation strategies.
• Communicate regularly with insurance carrier clients regarding case status and strategy.
• Negotiate settlements and assist in trial preparation.
