Job summary

Miller Leiby is seeking an Insurance Defense Attorney with at least 3 years of experience to join our Premises Liability Litigation practice in New York. This role focuses on defending slip-and-fall, trip-and-fall, snow/ice, and other general liability matters for commercial property owners, managers, and insurers.

You will manage cases from intake through resolution, draft dispositive motions, defend depositions, and prepare for mediations and trials, while maintaining strong client

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school and admission in NY (bar)
• Minimum 3 years of insurance defense experience focusing on premises liability, general liability, and/or retail/commercial property litigation
• Primary venue will be NYC and surrounding counties; familiarity with NY premises liability standards

Responsibilities

• Manage premises liability cases from intake through resolution
• Draft and argue dispositive motions, including summary judgment and labor law applications where applicable
• Conduct and defend depositions of plaintiffs, witnesses, and experts
• Prepare mediations, settlement conferences, and trial presentations

• Familiarity with New York premises liability standards, including Administrative Code §7-210 and related local laws
• Excellent analytical, writing, and courtroom skills
