BCG Attorney Search partners with a law firm to hire an insurance defense trial and litigation associate in their New York office. The role requires 3-6 years of experience and involves defending high exposure nationwide matters, including personal injury, bodily injury, civil litigation, and property damage.

You will manage a caseload, take depositions, draft pleadings, monitor trials, and interact with clients and insurance carrier clients.

Qualifications

• Admission to New York and Pennsylvania bars.
• 3–6 years of insurance defense litigation experience.
• Experience taking depositions.
• JD degree required.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of 25-30 matters.
• Take depositions and attend hearings and mediations.
• Draft and submit pleadings, discovery, motions, and briefs.
• Monitor trials and evaluate trial records for appeal errors.
• Conduct legal research using Westlaw/Lexis/Nexis.
• Review and analyze documents and materials for production.
• Develop arguments for appeals from briefs and trial transcripts.
• Evaluate insurance policies for potential coverage issues.
• Investigate claims and prepare case handling strategies.
• Report actively to insurance carrier clients and insureds.
• Prepare and participate in trial/mediation.
