Large Tampa Law Firm is seeking an Insurance Defense Legal Assistant with 5+ years of experience to support a fast-paced construction liability insurance defense practice. Background in 1st or 3rd party coverage is preferred, and you will work closely with a driven partner in a high-volume environment.

Competenze

• 5+ years of experience as a legal assistant/paralegal in insurance defense.
• Experience with 1st or 3rd party coverage preferred.
• Ability to manage high-volume workload and support a partner.

Mansioni

• Set hearings, depositions, mediations and meetings for attorney
• Calendar deadlines for discovery, trial, etc.
• Scan and file documents in the Firm's Document Management System
• Prepare filings and notices for court
• Process invoices for subpoenas and transcripts
• Maintain correspondence between attorney, paralegal and opposing counsel
• Open new files and run conflict checks
• Transcribe dictation for attorneys (if applicable)
• Coordinate travel and client meetings

Insurance Defense Legal Assistant

Large Tampa Law Firm is looking for a talented Insurance Defense Legal Assistant with 5+ years of experience to support our fast-paced construction liability insurance defense practice. (1st or 3rd party coverage background required) If you thrive in a high-volume environment and are eager to work closely with a driven partner, this is the role for you!

Compensation and Benefits

This is a direct hire position with a salary between $60,000 - $68,000 with a great working environment/culture with an excellent comprehensive benefits package with a firm in Tampa FL

Job Requirements

• Set hearings, depositions, mediations and meetings for attorney


• Calendar deadlines for discovery, trial, etc.


• Scan and save all documents and mail into the Firm's Document Management System


• Prepare documents for filing with court (hearing notices, mediation notices, deposition notices, notices of filing, etc.)


• Process all invoices for subpoenas, document requests, deposition transcripts, etc.


• Save all email correspondence between attorney, paralegal and opposing counsel


• Update/Keep track of case list, trial list and closing of files


• Open new files - run conflict checks, request parties to be added to AIM, set up new file


• Transcribe dictation for attorneys (If Applicable)


• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel and vendors


• Handle travel arrangements for attorneys


• Set up conference room(s) for client meetings
