Job summary

Jobot is recruiting an Insurance Defense Attorney with 5–15 years of experience to join its litigation team. The role emphasizes medical malpractice and healthcare-related defense, reviewing medical records, and developing comprehensive trial strategies.

NJ/PA bar admission is required, with hybrid/remote work options available for a dynamic, nationally recognized practice. Ideal candidates will have strong writing, research, analytical, and client-service skills and be comfortable handling

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar in NJ/PA.
• 5-15 years of insurance defense and/or medical malpractice experience.
• Medical malpractice defense experience strongly preferred.
• Experience reviewing and analyzing medical records highly valued.
• Professional liability or healthcare litigation experience a plus.
• Strong legal writing, research, analytical, and litigation skills.
• Ability to independently manage sophisticated matters.
• Strong communication and client-service skills.

Responsibilities

• Defend medical malpractice and healthcare-related litigation matters.
• Review and analyze medical records and claim files.
• Evaluate liability, causation, damages, and potential exposure.
• Develop defense strategy from initial evaluation through resolution.
• Conduct legal research and analyze applicable case law.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, briefs, and other litigation documents.
• Conduct and defend depositions.
• Work with medical experts and other professionals.
• Participate in hearings, mediations, conferences, and trial preparation.
• Communicate with insurance carriers, healthcare professionals, clients, experts, and opposing counsel.
• Pursue appropriate early resolutions while maintaining a strong trial strategy.

Our client is seeking a Medical Malpractice Defense Attorney with 5-15 years of experience to join its litigation team.

The ideal candidate will have direct medical malpractice defense experience; however, the firm is also interested in attorneys with broader insurance defense experience involving medical records, healthcare claims, professional liability, or medically complex matters.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced defense attorney who enjoys analyzing complicated factual records, working with experts, developing litigation strategy, and advocating for clients through all stages of a matter.
