Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney for our Orlando, FL office. The role focuses on general and professional liability matters with meaningful trial opportunities.

You will provide legal counsel, handle a caseload, conduct research, draft pleadings and motions, represent clients in court, and negotiate settlements. Requires a J.D. and active State Bar membership; 1+ year insurance defense experience.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active member in good standing with the State Bar.
• 1+ year experience in insurance defense litigation (general/professional liability).
• Strong discovery, legal writing, and civil litigation skills.
• Proven ability to draft pleadings and motions.
• Proficient legal research focusing on insurance law and civil procedure.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel to clients and claim personnel on insurance matters.
• Handle a caseload involving general liability, professional liability, and related matters.
• Conduct thorough legal research to support client cases and stay updated with current laws and regulations.
• Draft, review, and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
• Represent clients in court, presenting evidence and arguments in a clear and compelling manner.
• Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients, aiming to resolve matters favorably and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Must be an active member in good standing with the State Bar.
• 1+ years of experience in insurance defense litigation, with a focus on general and professional liability.
• Strong skills in discovery, legal writing, and civil litigation.
• Proven ability to draft and prepare pleadings and motions.
• Demonstrated proficiency in legal research, with a focus on insurance law and civil procedure.
