Job summary

H. T. PROF Group is seeking an Insurance Coverage Attorney for its Litigation team in California.

The role focuses on complex insurance coverage disputes and market conduct matters, requiring strong drafting, research, and advocacy in a hybrid work setting. The candidate should have a JD from an ABA-accredited law school, California bar admission, and at least 3+ years of substantive insurance coverage litigation experience.

Qualifications

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school with an excellent academic record
• Active Bar Admission in California, in good standing (Will consider other bar admissions for seasoned candidates)
• 3+ years of substantive litigation experience focusing on insurance coverage matters
• Experience analyzing complex insurance policies
• Ability to provide clear coverage recommendations
• Demonstrated experience drafting litigation-related documents
• Experience participating in litigation proceedings including depositions and mediations
• Familiarity with bad faith insurance claims, commercial general liability, commercial property, errors & omissions, and directors & officers
• Exceptional legal research and writing skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team

Responsibilities

• Analyze insurance policies and draft detailed coverage opinions
• Provide clear and actionable coverage recommendations for clients
• Conduct legal research using Westlaw, Lexis, and other research tools
• Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials
• Draft interrogatories, document requests, and responses
• Review and analyze document collections in preparation for litigation
• Engage in direct communication with domestic and international insurers
• Collaborate with partners and team members to advance case objectives with efficiency and precision
