Placements24 is seeking an Insurance Compliance Officer for our client, a growing insurance brokerage, to develop and monitor compliance programs focused on FAIS, FICA, POPIA. Hybrid work in East London, Eastern Cape, with an emphasis on regulatory adherence and risk management.

You will lead audits, advise management, maintain records, and liaise with regulators to ensure ethical operation and governance within the business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Commerce, Finance, or related field.
• 3–5 years in compliance, legal, or risk management roles, preferably in insurance/financial services.
• Strong knowledge of FAIS, FICA, POPIA and related regulations.
• Experience with internal audits and risk assessments.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with compliance software is a plus.
• Ability to work in a Hybrid model.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance programs, conducting internal audits, and providing guidance on regulatory matters. • Thorough knowledge of relevant insurance legislation and regulatory frameworks (FAIS, FICA, POPIA, etc.).
• Experience in conducting internal audits and risk assessments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with compliance management tools is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a Hybrid work model.
• High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CCEP, CI.Com) are advantageous.
