Job summary

Erie Insurance Group is seeking an in-office Claims Clerk in our Cary, NC area. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with licensing required within 45 days of employment.

The role reports to the Zones Dept in the Casualty Claims Division and involves handling first party and third party claims within authority. The position emphasizes accurate data entry, timely communications with policyholders and claimants, and adherence to ERIE's guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and one year of related claims handling, customer service, or clerical experience required.
• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred.
• Pursuit of general insurance education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Processes first party automobile, third party liability automobile and low severity property claims within limits of authority.
• Contacts policyholders and/or claimants, verifies coverage, sets reserves, issues payments and settles claims.
• Enters loss information into claims system and reviews all pending claims/activities regularly.
• Provides support for property claims during periods of heavy volume.
