Job summary

Erie Insurance Group is seeking an in-office Casualty Claims professional in Peoria, IL to settle specified claims under supervision. The role requires handling auto and property claims, communicating with policyholders, and maintaining claims systems and documentation.

Two openings exist, with hours Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm, reporting to the Peoria, IL office. The position emphasizes accuracy, adherence to policy, and timely resolution of claims.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and one year of related claims handling, customer service, or clerical experience required; or equivalent educational experience.
• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred.
• Pursuit of general insurance education preferred.
• Obtain appropriate licenses as required by state within 45 days of employment for external applicants and 90 days for internal applicants.

Responsibilities

• Processes first party automobile, third party liability automobile and low severity property claims within limits of authority.
• Contacts policyholders and/or claimants, verifies coverage, sets reserves, issues payments.
• Establishes contact with all parties involved in the claim per ERIE's expectations.
• Handles inquiries from policyholders, agents, carriers, claimants and others.
• Enters loss information into claims system and prepares related correspondence.
• Provides support for property claims during periods of heavy volume.
