Job summary

Vance Thompson Vision is seeking an Insurance Follow-Up Specialist to join our Sioux Falls team. You will manage insurance claims, follow up on outstanding items, and help maximize reimbursements while delivering excellent patient care.

You will collaborate with the business office to resolve denials, file appeals, and communicate with insurers. We offer a full benefits package, PTO, retirement contributions, and education support in a values-driven culture.

Qualifications

• Preferred associate degree in Health Information Management or related field.
• At least two years of medical insurance experience.
• Knowledge of medical billing regulations or terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle outstanding insurance claims, including denials and failed claims.
• Submit appeals for denials or low reimbursements.
• Process credits and request refunds for overpayments.
• Research denials to resolve eligibility, COB, or documentation issues.
• Respond to daily calls and emails from the business office.
