Job summary

Palmetto Infusion in Columbia, SC seeks an Insurance Case Manager to verify patient benefits for infusion services and coordinate eligibility with the intake and clinical teams. You will ensure timely referrals, accurate authorizations, and effective payer communications.

The role requires a high school diploma and 2 years of experience in insurance verifications, plus proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2 years of experience managing insurance benefit verifications and authorizations.
Proficient with MS Outlook, Word and Excel.
Ability to cope with ambiguous, changing environment while under pressure in a calm manner.
Team oriented with good communication across Palmetto Infusion team.

Responsibilities

Obtain patient data from referring physician offices to support medical necessity and data integrity.
Verify insurance benefits using websites and phone verifications.
Complete insurance verification forms and ensure documentation is scanned into patient records.
Review payer medical policies to determine medical necessity per guidelines.
Provide coverage summaries, documentation, and ongoing communication for updates and authorizations.
Manage an ongoing caseload with reauthorizations as needed.
Coordinate initial payments and payment plans when necessary.
Obtain signed SWOs and letters of medical necessity when required.
Serve as a primary on-call contact after hours and holidays as needed.
