This position is responsible for improving the agency's operational effectiveness, financial performance, carrier results, and ability to scale. The role serves as a bridge between leadership, producers, service teams, accounting, carrier partners, and technology vendors. This individual will identify opportunities to simplify and standardize workflows; create actionable management reporting; support carrier profit-sharing, improve agency growth initiatives; build financial business cases; and lead or support high-priority agency projects.
- Reporting and Business Intelligence
- Partner with leaders and business users to identify reporting needs, prioritize enhancements, and improve access to information and self-service analytics.
- Develop, maintain, and improve leadership dashboards and operating scorecards.
- Establish and maintain consistent definitions, calculation methods, ownership, and documentation for agency key performance indicators.
- Analyze trends and recommend actions related to revenue, organic growth, retention, cross-sell, producer activity, book profitability, service capacity, expense management, carrier relationships, and client experience.
- Combine information from the agency management system, CRM, financial systems, carrier reports, and other available sources to create a more complete view of agency performance.
- Identify data-quality issues, clarify data ownership, and confidence in agency reporting.
- Operational Improvement
- Partner with leaders to evaluate workflows across all four insurance lines while recognizing differences in products, carrier relationships, service models, compliance requirements, and client expectations.
- Partner with leaders to map, measure, analyze, and redesign workflows across sales, marketing, prospecting, new business, onboarding, renewals, endorsements, certificates, claims advocacy, billing, accounting, and carrier-download processing.
- Build operational scorecards that measure turnaround time, work volume, backlog, error or rework rates, workload distribution, service-level performance, and available capacity.
- Evaluate automation and integration opportunities involving the agency management system, CRM, document-management tools, workflow platforms, rating systems, carrier connectivity, reporting tools, and other agency technology.
- Support communication, training, reinforcement, and adoption activities; monitor results after implementation and recommend adjustments when needed.
- Develop and maintain a consistent carrier-performance framework across relevant business lines.
- Track and analyze premium volume, policy or account count, growth, retention, loss ratio where available, appetite alignment, submission-to-bind ratio, carrier concentration, and service performance.
- Identify and evaluate actions that may improve carrier results, including retention initiatives, appetite-focused prospecting, clean-account placement, improved submission quality, loss-control engagement, disciplined renewal execution, and improved carrier-data accuracy.
- Prepare carrier scorecards, business-review materials, and concise recommendations for leadership and carrier meetings.
- Strategic Projects
- Lead, partner or support agency through various strategic initiatives aimed continuous improvement.
- Partner with business leaders, compliance, information security, legal, IT, and vendors as appropriate so solutions align with agency policies, contractual obligations, privacy expectations, and risk-management requirements.
- Help define business goals, use cases, requirements, controls, human-review expectations, data-handling considerations, risks, and success measures for proposed automation and AI initiatives.
- Support new service models, organizational redesign, centralized or specialized workflows, and cross-department operating-model changes.
- Track project scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, decisions, owners, budget impact, expected benefits, and realized value.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews to determine whether the solution achieved the intended outcomes and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Maintain awareness of insurance technology, data standards, carrier-connectivity developments, and emerging operational capabilities.

Education, Experience, and Other Expectations
- Bachelor’s Degree in finance, business administration, accounting, data analytics, management information systems, operations management, or similar field; or equivalent experience.
- 6-8 years of experience in business analysis, operations analysis, financial analysis, reporting and analytics, project management, insurance operations, or a related field.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements, technology enhancements, or strategic initiatives.
- Experience working within the insurance industry, agency operations, carrier relations, underwriting support, or related insurance functions preferred.
- Industry designations such as CIC, CPCU, ARM, AAI, PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or similar professional certifications are preferred.
- This role is expected to travel less than 10% of the time.
