Job summary

Ledgent is seeking a skilled accounting professional in Connecticut to process and record daily insurance and medical benefit payments, ensuring accuracy and timely posting. The role includes reconciling activity to the GL and bank accounts, and preparing weekly invoices for these transactions.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance and 2–3 years of accounting experience, with strong Excel and Great Plains proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 2–3 years accounting or finance experience; equivalent education and experience considered.
• Strong Excel skills with pivot tables, charts and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Process and record daily insurance (IBM) and medical benefit (MBM) payments while ensuring accuracy and timely posting.
• Reconcile daily IBM and MBM payment activity to the general ledger and related bank accounts.
• Prepare weekly invoices for all insurance and medical benefit payment transactions.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of cash accounts and bank statements to maintain accurate financial records.
• Record banking activity, including checks, ACH transactions, invoices, and other cash-related entries.
• Prepare and submit monthly borrowing certificates to banking partners.
• Coordinate and process fund transfers as directed by the CFO.
• Manage billing, collections, and the posting of out-of-pocket expenses in accordance with contractual requirements.
• Assist with financial analysis and the preparation of reports for management, the Board of Directors, and administrators.
• Partner with senior accounting staff and account management on special projects and issue resolution.
• Support external audits by providing documentation and assisting with monthly and annual reporting requirements.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
