Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking an Audit Associate to join our client's team in a Direct Placement role in San Antonio, TX. The position begins with onsite training before transitioning to a hybrid work arrangement.

You will review payroll, tax, and accounting records to determine appropriate insurance premium bases across multiple lines, adjust premiums per state rules, complete audit worksheets in Excel, and deliver strong service to policyholders throughout the audit process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or accounting.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and able to learn new software.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Detail oriented with high accuracy.
• Strong critical thinking and organizational skills.
• Ability to problem solve and exercise good judgment.
• Strong reading comprehension to interpret manual rules.
• Self-motivated with strong time management and a desire to learn.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze payroll, tax, and accounting records to determine the appropriate premium base for a variety of insurance lines, including Worker’s Compensation, General Liability, and Professional Liability (a.k.a. Errors and Omissions)
• Obtain descriptions of business operations, employee job duties, and other relevant information over the phone and through email
• Determine if proper insurance classification codes have been assigned to customer policies according to the state manuals and suggest class code changes when appropriate
• Adjust premiums based on state manual rules, such as officer wage adjustments, premium overtime credits, tip credits, etc.
• Complete audit worksheets using an Excel template and process the audit findings in our database
• Provide superior customer service to the policyholders throughout the audit process
• Resolve customer disputes regarding audit results
