Job summary

The Baldwin Group in Birmingham, AL is seeking an entry-level Customer Service Associate to support our service team and manage the book of business. You will assist Producers, interact with carriers and clients, and help with data collection and renewal processes.

You will maintain client records in EPIC, prepare renewal workbooks, review renewal quotes, and handle policy changes. A bachelor’s degree is required or equivalent experience; state license may be obtained within 60 days.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; in lieu of degree can substitute relevant education and work experience.
• Insurance industry experience preferred.
• Appropriate state insurance license required; may be obtained within first 60 days.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong multi-tasking and time management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to efficiently handle multiple, simultaneous, and complex tasks.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• High level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Participate in day-to-day operations of a service team and the assigned book of business.
• Partner with the team and Producers to assist with customer service needs to maintain and grow the book of business.
• Interact with carriers, underwriters, and clients to provide data and information for decision making.
• Attend carrier meetings, to occasionally include afterhours events.
• Maintain client records within EPIC and other 3rd party vendor software as appropriate, in accordance with standards.
• Prepare exposure analysis/renewal workbooks and work with client/producer to obtain information from the client.
• Analyze renewal quotes for accuracy and prepare proposal/presentation documents for Account Executive review.
• Review documents issued by insurance company for accuracy.
• Process policies, certificates, change requests, ID cards, endorsements, cancellations, audits and invoicing as required.
• Request loss runs, claims analysis and other applicable needs to meet client, producer or carrier needs.
• Train with AE/AM on best practices and audits.
• Over time, learn client accounts and how to manage.
• Other duties as assigned.
