Job summary

Chemelex is seeking an insulation journeyman to perform insulation labor on a construction site under supervision. You will read blueprints, apply insulation, and ensure maintenance practices are followed.

The role requires supervising journeymen and coordinating team efforts, with substantial travel to sites nationwide. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, 4+ years as an insulation journeyman, and the ability to work independently while communicating effectively with management

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required or equivalent.
• NCCER certifications preferred but not required.
• Minimum 4 years experience as an Insulation Journeyman.
• Motivated self-starter capable of working independently.
• Ability to write legible routine correspondence and to speak effectively with management and Chemelex employees.
• Knowledge of industrial insulation issues.
• Works well within teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 90% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications to apply insulation to practical applications.
• Follow all unit insulation maintenance practices.
• Work in manufacturing environment including stairs, catwalks, and extreme heat/cold weather conditions.
• Work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays as operating conditions require.
• Observe all safety rules and regulations; wear PPE.
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating/maintenance instructions.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of journeymen and helpers.
• Responsible for time entry sheets.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications to apply insulation to practical applications.
• Follow all unit insulation maintenance practices.
• Work in manufacturing environment to include climbing stairs and catwalks as well as extreme heat/cold weather conditions.
• Work rotating shifts, to include weekends and holidays as operating conditions require.
• Observe all safety rules and regulations; wear all personal protective equipment.
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of journeymen and helpers.
• Responsible for time entry sheets.

Requirements include but are not limited to:

• Minimum of a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• NCCER Certifications preferred but not required.
• Minimum 4 years experience as an Insulation Journeyman
• Motivated self-starter capable of working independently and efficiently.
• Ability to write legible, routine correspondence and to speak effectively as well as coherently with management and other Chemelex employees.
• Knowledge of industrial insulation issues

• 90% travel to job sites around the country.
