Job summary

Novanta Inc. is seeking a detail-focused electro-mechanical assembler to join its Robotics & Automation team in California. The role involves bonding, fine soldering, wire forming, and assembling small components with microscopes to high precision standards.

You will read schematics, follow procedures, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. A high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to learn quickly are required.

Qualifications

  • Steady hands / dexterity under scope.
  • Read and communicate in English a plus.
  • Electro-mechanical assembly skills.
  • Microscope soldering skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret various forms of documentation.
  • Follow established procedures.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Past experience under microscope w/fine details.
  • Experience soldering gold wire.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Perform bonding operations on small components.
  • Perform fine soldering operations.
  • Perform fine wire shaping and forming operations.
  • Perform wire crimping operations.
  • Perform repetitive operations such as soldering and crimping wires to terminal and connectors, wiring circuit boards, preparing components and building cables and harnesses.
  • Use magnifying devices (microscopes) to assemble and solder small assemblies.
  • Perform RTV & Conformal coating operations.
  • Perform incidental mechanical assembly.
  • Refer to drawings, diagrams or schematics as guide for performing assembly tasks.
  • Apply Lean principles for daily continuous improvements.

This position is part of Novanta’s Robotics & Automation business unit. Robotics & Automation is the world’s leading developer of robotic end of arm technologies. Primary Responsibilities

  • Must be able to perform bench work and standing periodically throughout the day
